REVIEW:
This was a fun spin on the traditional Greek Myths you may know. Familiar Greek gods and monsters appear but not always in the way you would expect as its in a contemporary setting.
Simon and Cordelia meet on the beach and there is an instant connection that Cordelia cannot explain. I liked that this wasn't drawn out for too long. It meant we could move quickly to finding out what caused this situation that Simon and Cordelia find themselves in. I really liked the pacing of this story, definitely one you can binge in one or two sittings.
There is a lovely friendship between Cordelia and her best friend Meg that I absolutely loved. Always love seeing positive female friendships. I hope she gets her own book, her and her possible love interest would definitely make for an interesting read, considering how certain gods will react to it(!)
Simon and Cordelia are both dorky and adorable with each other. Their banter was cute and you could easily see them as a couple. This is a second chance romance and I appreciated that the couple were able to work through the issues that separated them originally, made their reconciliation all the more sweeter.
I thought it was inspired of the author to diverge from myths so that even though the Gods are familiar you're never sure what twists and turns their original story will take when you are told them.
This contemporary take on Poseidon and Amphitrite is a fun, easy read perfect for getting you out of a slump. Recommend to those who enjoy second chance romances that are light on angst but high on the sweetness factor. This is book 5 so I will definitely be checking out the previous books in the series!
